History

Ruskington Christian Fellowship (RCF) was first formed by a small group of Christians in the village. Through the decades the church has seen lots of changes, none more so than in 1998 when it put itself under the care of Emmanuel Christian Centre, Newark, led by Pastor ken Morgan. By this time, RCF was struggling and needed some help and support. This came in the way of ministry teams being sent over each week, eventually leading to the current leaders becoming involved and part of the leadership of the church. The decision was taken to change the name of the church to Emmanuel Christian Centre, Ruskington, in order for it to be connected to a network of ECC churches. In 2003 the old church building was knocked down and, due to the immense generosity of people in the church, a brand new one was opened in September 2004. In 2008 the church became South Lincs Church.

The leaders

Pastors Mark and Deana Button officially took over Senior Leadership of the church in September 2003. Both had been members of ECC Newark before getting involved in Ruskington. In June 2003 they both graduated from Mattersey Bible College with degrees in Biblical Theology. After getting married in August 2003, they moved to Ruskington in order to pastor the church. They both now work full-time for the church and are passionate about seeing God’s name made famous in this area. Some of Mark’s interests include supporting Nottingham Forest , watching DVDs and eating Chinese/Indian food! Deana loves shopping, chick flicks, chocolate, and going out for coffees with friends!
